Theresa Parker's Family Desperate for Answers
April 12, 2007
It has been three weeks since Walker County dispatcher Theresa Parker vanished. In a quest for more answers, her family is turning to a spiritual intuitive.
Joan Colmore says she comes from a family line of prophetic dreamers and she works only in the spirit of Christ. She has done this type of work for 20 years and has worked on missing persons cases before. In Theresa Parker's case, her mother called Colmore.
The intuitive made many connections with the family and believes Theresa Parker is dead.
During the meeting, Joan Colmore held the hands of Theresa Parker's mother. The spiritual intuitive started the session with Claire Careathers and her husband in prayer and scripture.
Colmore says she had not watched television and knew nothing of this case until Claire called. The mother of the missing 911 dispatcher says she is desperate for an answer.
"Theresa lived right around the corner from me," Claire Careathers, Theresa's mother said. "One pond they drained completely because the dogs started acting funny but it turned up nothing. I'm just at the point, there's no telling how far she is from home.
Theresa's mother gave the intuitive a recent picture. She rubbed her fingertips across it and said this: "I feel like something not good has happened here and I think it is someone she trusted and knew. I feel like it was someon fairly close to her.
Colmore calls her connections "knowings" and did not get a good feel on Theresa Parker.
"I feel like she had been disturbed about somthing, was upset about something and I feel like it was financial and I think it was something to do with money that troubled her," she said. I feel like she keeps or kept her distress to herself."
Parker's mother showed the intuitive a picture of LaFayette police sergeant Sam Parker, Theresa's estranged husband and a person of interest to law enforcement. Colmore asked what his name was saying it was the first time she had seen him and then offered this: "I'll just say this, there was a betrayal of trust here."
Colmore says she has never allowed a television camera in on a session but agreed to Wednesday.
Also, she says she felt a chill each time our reporter mentioned Theresa Parker's name. Claire Careathers hopes to follow Joan Colmore's "knowings" to her daughter.
