Chattanooga police say the body found at a boat dock on South Chickamauga Creek Thursday is that of 25-year-old Ronnie M. Franklin.
Franklin was reported missing by his family back on January 9, who told police he was last seen leaving an address in Chattanooga driving a silver 2000 Ford Mustang with Tennessee plates.
Franklin's family told police he had a "substantial" amount of cash on him and his cellphone was disconnected.
Franklin was featured on NewsChannel9.com in the missing person's section up until the discovery of his body and positive identification was made.
Police said Thursday that two men went to a boat dock in the Waterhaven subdivision on Harrison Pike about 1:30 pm to clean a boat and discovered a tarp had gotten hung in the dock. Police said once the men moved the tarp they discovered a body inside and then called 911.
