Walker County Superior Court Judge Bo Wood has denied bond for Sam Parker. Parker’s defense last week asked Wood to allow his client to be under house arrest. Parker was charged in February 2008 with murdering his wife, Theresa. He has been in jail since then. Theresa Parker, a dispatcher with Walker County 911, has been missing since March 21, 2007. Sam Parker was a sergeant with the LaFayette Police Department when she disappeared. During a motions hearing last Thursday morning in Walker County Superior Court, with Judge Wood presiding, the defense asked that his client be allowed bond and to be under house arrest. The defense said Sam Parker could be in the care of his brother and sister and could be tracked with GPS. The defense argued that house arrest would be less expensive for taxpayers than keeping Sam Parker in jail. The defense also argued that Sam Parker is not a threat to law enforcement or others. news.mywebpal.com/news_tool_v2.cfm?show=localnews&pnpID=730&NewsID=960404&CategoryID=3511&on=1
